I picked up the truck last year shortly after the PO had lifted it 6"

Dodge01002.jpg

In pretty short order I dropped it down to a 2" leveling kit, tossed on a set of Pac Brake bags, GDP MKII, Quad Scout with pyro for guages, Smarty S06, Pac Brake PRXB, Class V hitch and recently some 35x12.50 Toyo MT's with Chrome H2's.

In use she's usually loaded down a little over 20,000lbs GCW.

I'll probably build some tube bumpers for her at some point here once I'm done with an internal seat cage in the Chevy.

I guess I should update this for the new acquisition.

First things first, to make it more of a build thread I'll go through some of the installs via pictures.

Class V hitch:

Dodge02Overallstockhitch.jpg
Pretty simply really. Cut that guy out and bolt in the new unit.

New unit

Factory receiver removed in pieces.

New unit bolted in.

3250 South Bend Dual Disc Clutch install:

Again, pretty simple. Put these inbetween the tranny and motor. Now if only that tranny/t-case combo wasn't so heavy...

I buddy happens to own a large fab shop and let me use his 4 post on the weekend which made this whole process go faster. Couldn't have done it in a day without.

Ah the business end.

Somehow it got all bolted back up without anymore pictures, but suffice to say it holds the power great, shifts a little slower and is noisy below both 1500RPM and with the clutch disengaged. The good comes with the bad.

PacBrake PRXB Exhaust Brake:

The kit as it comes in the box. A little daunting visually, but it's really not bad.

CIMG7822.jpg
Just make this...

CIMG7823.jpg
Look like this.

CIMG7824.jpg
Oh and hook this up and...

CIMG7826.jpg
The important part.

Sway bar end links:

The factory units were destroyed by the PO, so I had to build a new solution.

SwayBar005.jpg
Weld in inserts I turned and a misalignment spacer for each side in case. More useful as a washer I think.

SwayBar007.jpg
I drilled out the tapered forged axle mount and blazed the new units in place.

SwayBar009.jpg
Splashed them with paint and bolted in the new end links with 1/2" rod ends.

I think that brings us up to speed.

I guess I should delve into why I needed to update this post.

I bought this:

251201_1974213107518_1008765435_2268095_613811_n.jpg

As a result I need to add an in bed trailer plug, build frame side mounts and REALLY put the bags to use now.

I've got all the steel to build the mounts this weekend. I'll grab some pictures.

It's no 9.5-11.5 hardside, but it's alot more room than the tent I was used to. It also doesn't weigh but half of what one of the larger hardbodies does.

Popped up there's a decent amount of ammenities and space.

The kicker for the gf was the onboard bathroom. The cover folds down and a cushion goes on top for more seating.

Got the camper mounts down earlier this week. Still need to turn the ends from some solid stock, but I'm using a 3/4" bolt ATM.
