Is the 4.7 in the 07 cherokee the same as the 4.7 in my 03? i got a line on a running 4.7 out of a jeep that looks exactly the same for $600. id like to get that and tune it up to put in my truck. the one i got now has a head problem that i filled with blue devil, runs fine just lopes a little bit and still have a little steam coming out. but i figured a 4 7 out a cherokee would be a little less well used than that of an old work truck like mine.

Thoughts?

Mostly, what you need to verify is what the crank tone wheel tooth count is. I know between 02-03-later there were changes. Only way to swap tone wheels is to pull the crank. Everything else is pretty much the same through 07. 08 is when the 4.7 got somewhat fun lol.

The difference is whether the engine controller is a JTEC (02) or NGC after 02. Durango didn't change until mid 2003 model year but the two controllers look nothing alike. Junkyards are full of them so just look around and compare. The build date is inside the drivers door jam. Look the pan and exhaust manifolds over as I think the Jeep parts are different. Your truck parts should interchange.
