I've installed Husky 30711 front floor mats in my 1997, I'm reasonably happy with the fit and finish.

I would like to get a molded mat for the rear (club cab) as well.

Husky Liners' part number 61721 says it fits 1998+

I haven't been able to find a (molded) rear floor mat for a 1997 club cab from any manufacturer, or even a picture of one if they were ever made.

I would like to know if anyone has direct knowledge of the difference in the 97 and 98 rear floor shape and contour, perhaps someone has both years sitting in the driveway? ...or has done this before?

This is the Husky 61721:

Based on the picture...

I can tell that on the driver's side front left corner, there is a radius cut out, I assume this is for the bottom of the driver's door.

Also on the driver's side, the rear left corner has a more square cut out, like the passenger's side has ...where my 1997 has a narrower "sweeping" curve going back under the rear seat.

I don't care if these two differences would leave a little bit of extra carpet exposed... I also wouldn't care if I needed to do some MINOR trimming to get it in there.

The passenger's side rear corner LOOKS like it would fit around the jack storage area in my 97...? And I assume the front (40/20/40) seat mount is the same in both years.

What say you?

I appreciate your time, thanks!

In case anyone else is wondering what the difference is between a 1997 and 1998 1500 Club Cab rear floor...

I ordered the Husky Liner 61721 and it arrived today.

First thing, it's actually a two piece mat. This is probably okay. The driver's side overlaps it on the edge of the hump, so if anything was spilled from the rear cup holder, for instance, it could run under mat and on to the carpet.

What I expected for the driver's side was correct, there is extra carpet exposed in the front and rear corners.

The passenger's side was a different story. The rear corner isn't square as shown in the stock photo, and doesn't fit around the jack storage compartment as I had hoped.

This was the only area I had to trim. I made a cardboard template and used the jack access panel to trace the contour. I cut the liner with a normal pair of scissors.

I was incorrect about the front seat mounts. The passenger side mounting points are different... or at least the trim is. (I'm sure someone has done a seat swap at some point.) The front of the mat doesn't lay completely flat on the carpet here.

I could cut it to fit, but I would loose the lip to contain liquid, which is kind of the point. Some bricks and a heat gun could probably do the trick. Not a big deal for me personally.

One more minor detail is my floor dips down on the passenger's side at the door, again not a big deal for me.

I'm satisfied with the chance I took, it will do what I need it to do...
