I have a 2022 Ram 1500 Crew Cab Laramie (white with black trim) that I purchased used, and I have a question regarding the rear sliding window assembly.
The rear power sliding window has a glossy black piece above the slider and another glossy black piece below the slider. These pieces have a very high-polish finish and blend in visually with the rear glass. However, after inspecting them closely, I believe the upper and lower sections may actually be plastic trim rather than glass. The glass on either side of the slider appears to be in excellent condition with no defects.
The reason I ask is that the upper and lower sections have noticeable light etching, swirl marks, and micro-scratches, almost as if someone cleaned them with a dirty rag or an abrasive pad at some point. There are no deep scratches that can be felt with a fingernail—just fine surface marring that becomes visible in certain lighting conditions.
My questions are:
I would appreciate any advice, recommendations, or firsthand experiences from other Ram owners before I start polishing the area.
