Thought this might help some others looking to add the "Load Floor" folding platform under the rear seat to the trucks that didn't come with one. My 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Quad Cab has this feature, & I used it constantly for things that I didn't want to put in the bed. I had assumed it was in all trucks, but learned over time that it wasn't. When I got a newer truck a month ago, a 2024 Ram 2500 Crew Cab, it didn't have the Load Floor. :(

Within the first week of driving the 2024 I wanted to use it & regretted not having it. I looked online for a used one but they are pretty expensive & shipping can be almost as much as the floor itself. I considered building one, even saw the one that a member on here made, but I have hardly any free time with the renovation I am doing on my house. I googled what years will interchange & of course found conflicting info, so I was afraid to experiment with an expensive item to find out that it didn't fit.

This past weekend I was cleaning out the 2004 & doing a few things to the 2024 & had them parked side by side. I made a visual comparison of the floor areas under the back seat & grabbed a tape measure. Hmm, the distance between the bolts holding the seat brackets matched. Time to do an actual test fit to see if the cab floor contours, all the measurements, the seats themselves, the geometry of everything pivoting & moving worked like it appeared it might.

Guess what?

The steel platform from the 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab is an EXACT & PERFECT fit in the 2024 Ram 2500. The carpet even had the perforations for where the center bolts would go even though the seat is the full size seat & not the 60-40 split. Since the bolts that hold the Load Floor in place are the same ones that hold the seats I had to buy two more bolts to hold the inner brackets to the floor of the 2024. I could have used the bolts from the 2004 but then the seats wouldn't be secure.

One thing that I hadn't done yet is to remove the snap that holds the elastic strap. This strap goes from the underside of the Load Floor to the front of the storage well. It keeps tension on the elastic to hold the platform in place under the seat when not in use. There is also a set of nuts that go onto studs pressed in or welded on the seat brackets. I'm not going to bother adding these to the 2024 because the work will involve removing the rear seat entirely to mount the Load Floor the same way.

I don't know what other configurations may or may not work because of the various cab floor stampings between model, year or interior options. One Marketplace ad I had seen for a Load Floor for sale, the seller stated that the Load Floor he was selling wouldn't fit in his 2024. This was why he was selling it. I'm still shocked that it was a direct bolt in without a single modification. These two trucks are 20 years apart & not the same cab or class truck.

Here's a few pictures of how it looks:

The first two pictures is the Load Floor in & removed from the 2004.

The third picture shows it installed in the 2024.
