Had same truck, broken header bolts. They make the truck sound like it is ticking. Hard to find which one is broken. Also, the driver door control for windows went, it is a bad solder spot that you can fix or just buy replacement, was common around that year. Only other thing I ever replaced aside from normal wear items was a front bearing hub. Great truck, ran my for 16 years, parents drove it a bit then sold it and it still runs by their house.

Thanks , good to know the truck only has 17,000 mi. so hopefully the header bolts will be OK for a while I think she’ll love the truck after owning a Toyota Yaris :(

That may be a bit high. What level trim, how many miles, what options are on it?

Oh that is WAY high, unless it has like 10k original miles. The RFE auto transmissions in these trucks are garbage. The original might get you 100k miles (my 2003 made it to about 105k) before failure and rebuild never quite seem to be as long lived. I went through 6 in 20 years and 200k miles. Decided that was enough, mainly because the trans always decided to fail at the most inopportune times. If it's a stick shift (which was an option that year) then it's good.

asking price is $17,500 ?
Thats freaking crazy for a truck this old... If it was a diesel hell yea but thats way to high you can find a 4th gen for 8000-10k.
So lets say this truck is spotless no rust looks like new under 100k miles MAX it should be is 7-8k its 2wd a 3rd gen is a 3rd gen.
