I'm considering putting an order in for a 1500 Express. Checking off the following boxes:
- 4x2
- CC with 6'4" box
- LSD
- 3.92 rear
- bed package

Plan is to lower the suspension, hence 4x2. Currently own '99 F250 7.3 4x4 with 6" lift, Dana front solid axle, etc. Great truck but looking to come down to earth with something new. Great reviews of-the Hurricane motor and IMO best styling currently available in any full size truck have me giving the new Ram serious consideration.

Having owned a number of 8th, 9th and SD Ford trucks I am a newb when it comes to Rams. If I'm off or missing something feel free to chime in.

Yeah, since you already have a real work truck make this one a single cab because you're going to lower it. Lowered 4 doors just look lame and goofy imo, sorta like the old Hispanic guy that wants a muscle truck, but has to use it for work too. Go full blown hot rod and I'd go 456 gears and make that sucka jump! Screw gas mileage, make it your muscle truck; since you asked.

I dont know fords, but gas mileage. I consistently get 24mpg, and with the 33 gallon tank the range is incredible.

The 7.3 will be going on a chopping block as soon as I place the order. Though it looks like a work truck, the F250 is used to haul bikes to the track. Need space in the cab whenever I stay overnight at the tracks.

I love the way the 90's Ford and Chevys crew cab long bed duallies look when slammed so the new Ram with the suspension drop will be perfect for me. Maybe Ill look into performance mods down the road once the warranty expires

I would love to get a 33gal tank option but did not see it mentioned on the build site. Is it part of a certain package or on the "secret menu"?

I purchased a 2025 Ram 1500 Laramie back in September 2025. It’s been in the garage two times for dead battery, two times dash cluster, tow module and electric tailgate failure to latch. Around 8,000 miles on it. I don’t know about that model you are looking to purchase but I regret mine.

I have not had the new 5th generation as the new ones are , but I have had 3 Rams and some dodges before that , Never needed any work on any of them that I can remember. the last 3 have been 6ft box quad cabs , last 2 where 4x4.
If you really want to Go, there is the hi out put that I know nothing about.
Welcome from Canada. I have had fords, the best was the 53, 80 was OK, 300 with a stick.
