I drive the Lake Pontchartrain causeway bridge every morning and lately my truck's rear suspension has been rough. It's a hard jarring that happens going over the expansion joints of the bridge and only happens after about 8 miles. I've had to pull off in the emergency lane and slow down enough to put the air ride into Off Road 1, then get back up to speed. The air ride goes back to Normal after hitting 35 mph but that seems to fix the jarring ride for the rest of the bridge. My mechanic couldn't find any leaks and it doesn't happen on any other roads no matter how long I drive. Granted they're not as rough as the expansion joints on the bridge. The mechanic thinks we should try replacing the gas shocks and see if that solves anything, if not he's quoting me to replace the air ride with traditional suspension. I've looked through a ton of other threads in this forum and can't find any similar problems. Any ideas? Could it just be worn out gas shocks?
