2019 ram 12” touchscreen into 4th gen

Hi

New ram owner here. Just purchased a 2015 ram 3500. Anyway in my area I’ve come across several ads posted for brand new 12” 2019 ram touchscreen. Trim piece and everything (well no harness..ha)

What’s the feasibility to do this mod? Is it just crazy to consider?

I considered it, I didn’t look to be too difficult but I haven’t seen the new screens in person. I’d like to know where the mounting clips/points are in comparison for 4th gen. To be honest, anything can be done, but if you are able to get one and take some measurements that would help us all

You'd have to look closely at the surround to see if the speed clips and mounting screw holes all line up. It's something I would do well in advance of buying anything.

The below post was from gysot selling a 19 set up. In it someone mentioned the harnesses where the same as the 4th gens.

The biggest concern I see is the hvac and misc other connectors in the dash that may or may not line up.

Any suggestions on locating a mating harness part number? It’s obviously an 8 pin

Not sure exactly what the one on the right is..

Would tech Authority be a good place to start ?

Missing the vent trim piece. No luck on eBay. Probably a long shot at a salvage yard at the point. Any suggestions for location this part?

Short of asking a dealership, I'm not sure youll find an answer for a while. maybe @GYSOT can help you, since he sold one recently. I did a search on ebay and car-parts[dot]com, to no avail, and the mopar parts sites dont have 2019's yet.

I'm also exploring options for putting a 2019 radio in my 2017 RAM. It's been a while since someone posted in this thread so i'm wondering where you at with this.
