the way i had it in my mind, the flow went from the center pole to one (or none) of the outer poles
so to have power coming in from one or the other outer poles to the center seems backwards
but im sure you're right and thats just the way i see it, not the way it is conventionally done
come to think of it, i only remember wiring a SPDT switch twice
once on a home audio system, where i added a second center speaker to a surround sound system
the one center speaker was in the conventional spot, beneath the TV and i added a second one mounted to the back of the couch , right behind my ears
i used the SPDT switch, signal going into the center pole and one outer going to the conventional speaker, the other outer pole going behind the couch
the other was actually a DPDT switch (which is basically two SPDTs in tandem, no?)
i used that one to run the rear plow on my superdookie, power goes into the center pole and out the outer poles
push the top of the switch an the plow raises, push the bottom and the plow drops
and that is the extend of my experience with DT switches
