Hi all,

I've been having a really annoying issue with my 2016 ram sport this week. The engine sensor light keeps coming on each time after I go reset it to the dealership. They've been telling me it's the gas cap as their plug in machine reads the code of Evac (not sure if that's how you spell it). Everytime I leave the dealership, I'm happy as it costs me nothing and I'm sure it won't ever happen again but next thing you know, after a few days or even the same day, it keeps coming on.

It breaks my heart knowing my Kia that I've owned for 5 years have never had an issue like that. Can't they just fix the damn issue?

Have anyone owning a 2016 or a 4th gen ever had that problem? Or something very similar? The dealership have talked about changing my gas cap. They also said I don't shut it tight enough but to me, that's BS as I've always shut her like that for the first 15 000km and never had an issue.

Anyways, if someone can pitch in their experience about an issue like that, please share with me as I will read this daily. I'm also calling them tmw to keep them updated and I'll leave you guys updated.

Cheers

Joel

Evap leak is pretty easy to diagnose. Have they actually checked it out or you just had a service advisor clear the codes? Do you know what code was set?

Both times they cleared the codes. I do have a S&B cold air and MBRP exhaust system but that has nothing to do with it because I've installed them properly and I've been riding like that for the past 12 000km.

Code was PO441 (that's what I see on my bill) and they also did an update that apparently didn't do anything..I'll just get some black tape and put it on my engine sensor as I hate looking at it while driving. For now.

I get an error code 0456. Evaporate leak I guess. It comes on after start up. I had an appointment to get it looked at, but it cleared itself. I put a tune on it so I'm scared to take it in now. I just clear the code now.

P0441 is a fault code set in the evaporative emissions system ( a purge flow error ). Code P0440 is a small vacuum leak in this system that a gas cap could/maybe/possibly fix. P0441 is not a serious fault code, but still needs fixed to keep your check engine light off.
