Any help is appreciated. I am considering another truck. Anyone have experience with 4th gen air suspension and 5th gen springs? What do you prefer? What does your wife say is more comfortable. Mine doesn’t enjoy the 2500 so looking to add a 1500. Thanks!

My 22 Laramie with springs rides much better than my 4th gen with springs. Less body roll and very nice on bumpy asphalt roads. One of the nicest riding trucks I’ve ever been in…..

The air system was a bit stiffer when I test drove it, but very nice as well.

I had a 17 BH and loved it. But had to get rid of it for work needs. Miss it and not sure which direction to go in.

Had 17 shorty with springs, 22 air. They both ride pretty well for a truck. The air suspension 22 long wheelbase is the most comfortable road trip car I have ever owned. E38 BMW 740 maybe better for 2, but the 1500 takes rear seat passengers more comfortably and holds a bunch more suit cases. It rides even better with weight in the bed.

My 2017 Ram Rebel has air ride. I have issues with it when the temp is near 20 degrees. So basically I can't make height adjustments when it's below freezing. I've driven it for miles before with the front lowered all of the way and the back raised up all the way. LoL. But I love the truck.

Well, I just have a low trim Bighorn, but the ride is great. Plenty of room in the back for PPLS, dogs, whatever, and I have a Full Tonneau Cover so all sorts of room for stuff. NOW, what person would not want say a Challenger, or Camaro all souped up. BUT those things ride horrible, are just toys, and are not practical, IMHO.

ADDED: But if somebody with $$$ and wants to buy me a new Challenger, or older LT1 Camaro, BOIRD not complain (sic).

CAVEAT: This the winter weather usually down here,. Sleet and ice, not much snow, except for Feb 2021.

A few days late to the party, but going from a 3/4 ton w 20” wheels to 3/4 with 18” wheels made a ton of difference. old one was ‘16 and my current one is a ‘22. Even with less tire pressure in the ’16 with bilstein 5100, my ‘22 w smaller rims rides better. The smaller the rim and bigger the tire, the better it should ride and make the wife happier

I swear my 20 classic road better than My 23 dt
Gotta luv auto correct, lol. Your Avatar lists a 18. Got more than one? lol..

I thoroughly enjoy the ride of my lowly DT Bighorn. No fancy suspension changes, just better shoes. No air suspension neither. Rides like a charm, works for me, but I's just a Boird.

It is true, all the rams any trim ride nicely relative to the competition. I think we pay for it slightly in towing ratings but I’ll take the trade off.

I recently bought a 2023 Big Horn with the V6, and it is the smoothest and quietest vehicle that I have ever owned. The seats are definitely more comfortable than my brother's Chevy Silverado and my father's Ford F-250, and my wife loves the ride too. Let us know what you choose.

My Wife always says that my Longhorn rides better than her Lexus.

2020 w/ 4-Corner Air Suspension.
Bilstein B6 4600 shocks, Falken Rubitreks and Hellwig 7709 FTW!

I had the factory air suspension in m '16 Longhorn and swapped it out for springs. I ran aftermarket complete 4th gen struts and switched to 5th gen springs in the front. In the rear I had takeout 4th gen rear springs that I swapped out for Gladiator springs. Even still the truck isn't as soft and supple as the factory air suspension.
