after a couple days looking for a cold air intake I realized the stock intake is basically a cold air intake as it’s oulling air from inside the fender after reading a forum about putting a “air duct” to the bottom of the box I decided to remove the airbox and see other options I then realized the stick. Snorkel has enough room on the bottom to drill a 2.5” hole n run a hose to the front grille I did take readings before and after and the air temp drops almost 10* driving around and has a lot more throttle respeonse and wants to get up and go. So far the truck has a pedal commander, muffler delete, and the airbox mod for performance. The difference is night and day . Will post pics later today

Parts used.
2.5” shop vac house (about 3 feet)
2.5” shop vac adaptor
2.5” hole saw

Since y'all are noticing a difference in the 'seat dyno' because your foot is happy, I am gonna assume you are not noticing anything in improved fuel economy, correct?

Well with that alone I was averaging 17-18 freeway,(70-80mph)15-16 town by evic. Then I got a pedal commander, then a edge pulsar then a throttle body. So now I drive it like I stole it....lol

Which throttle body did you go with? Having a hard time deciding on that for my next mod

I love cheap mods. How did you get the screen in the end of the snorkel?

I did it a year ago or so and went with a Green racing filter drop in. Debating taking it out and getting an s&b based on its ghetto having dryer hose in my truck engine bay. Even though I won't notice a power diff. But oh well for now

You asked and damned if I could remember so I had to look. Been since oct/nov last year.
Thats the creative home depot shopping part!! Plumbing pvc section, 3" od screw cap fitting with male end and cap removed. Wrap screen onto male end then slide into flex hose and hose clamp it

Saving several hundred bucks and pulling off the same result isn’t ghetto. It’s just plain intelligent. Now that big silly plastic engine cover..that’s factory ghetto. Lol

I've always thought a lot of the cold air intakes are seriously overpriced. I think the Mopar Ram one goes for $450! If I can achieve similar results and save $400 I'm all for it

I'm all in for this mod.
Saving $400 + is a huge savings. And as far as ghetto goes. Who cares if I can get the same results as an after market air box. Spend the extra cash on a nice filter. No one is under my hood other than me anyway.

I want to try this. Can someone post a picture of the inside of the air box after the hole is cut in for the hose?
