I know what he means. It's a 2 inch addition of height but that's overall. Bottom one inch and top one inch. So it's in essence only one inch higher

I'm still a new when it comes to this trucks, so what bottom and what top ? the diff pumpkings will go up 1.5-2" front and back on 37's with respect to 35's, that's how i look at it, I come from the Jeep Wrangler world, so this type of conversations are the norm hahaha.
In any case, scroll down to see a side by side with 3 different tires, One 35", two 37's, look at the difference in size between the GY MT's and the BFG KO2's, both 37..

You can also check this thread, little nice tire size database to give you a comparison point on the tires that you may have now, compared to what you could have. Notice the way they measure, that way it gives you a comparison point and a way to measure yours to reference somebody else setup...

With respect of gearing, i can feel the difference between running the factory 33" like tires for example, vs the 35's i have now (315/70/17), not by much, but she doesnt have the same peppy grunt she had before down low, i have 3.92's with the 65rfe trans, to put it in better perspective, i was turning 1950rpm with the factory size tires at 70mph, now with 35's, i'm turning 1850rpm, if i did 37's, i'll be turning 1700rpm, not optimal, but still better RPM than the same truck equipped with 3.21's and factory size tires (1600rpm), so with 37's in my truck it'll be equivalent of having a Hemi Crew Cab with 3.21's (minus the weight of the wheel/tire combo of course)
You can use this calculator to give you an idea where you will be depending on the tire size, use the numbers on the DB above for tire size, yes they look small in paper, but that's how the tire rolls with with the weight of the vehicle on them, and that's also what the PCM sees to calculate MPH, MPG etc etc. Yes 35's are not 35's, in a way, except if if you go with those GY MT's, Pitbull rockers, Super Swampers etc, etc, not all tires are created equal.... the last 3 are example of tires that are bigger than other commercial brands given the same advertised size, if i did 37's, i'd like to have 4.56's, that would put me at 2000rpm at 70mph, which is the equivalent of 3.92's with factory height tires and the 6 speed trans.
