It still blows my mind you had an issue. I’m at 3” and my cv angle is slightly angled down. It’s odd how some trucks respond so much differently to different setups. I do plan on going back to 2.5” instead of 3” when I swap to the fox 2.5 dsc though. The CV angles at 2.8 is bad enough.
A lot of preload means less down travel and what little rebound you will have will feel very tight and stiff because of the lack of down travel. You can run it a bit shorter at the #6 or #7 setting and purchase a rough country spacer that lifts 1/2” and that will help with less preload. That’s how I have mine setup and a few others as well with no issues so far.

Cv angle and ride quality honestly. And height is up to you. Mine isn’t severe at all but it will prolong the life being more neutral. Plus having less preload and more down travel will improve ride quality off-roading. If you are strictly a street truck then that won’t be much of an issue for you because you won’t be bouncing around and maxing your suspension like I do at times. Is there a consensus on the 6 or 7 setting? Why are you going back to 2.5?
This is the kit but you do not use the preload spacer. Only the small plate that goes above. The reason to use this one and not any other is the hole in the middle is smaller and prevents the bushing in the top hat from having space to move around.Sounds like the 0.5 spacer is the better way to go. Appreciate the input, thank you.
