ANOTHER Tuner Question

Do all of the available tuners for 2012 Rams have to be mounted? Or can I install the tune and unplug like an old school hypertech? Im completely uninterested in the extra instrumentation the unit would display. The less light shinin in my eyes while im driving, the better.
