I still can't believe how many people fall for this scam.

For fun, I asked the salesman who sold me my truck about this. He insisted that this was new tech and didn't require anything more than the recommended OCI.

I smiled and thought to myself, he's out to lunch, has no clue, and I'll never ask him a technical question again.

When I brought it in for the first oil change 1500 miles, they tried to talk me out of it.

Funny though, when I watched the oil draining and inspected the filter, I could see the metal particulate.

IIRC, I changed the oil on new motorcycle engines at ~300 miles.

They just don't get it.

I had a 22re in my offroad Toy, a lifted '87 extended cab.

That was the most fun I've ever had with a 4 wheeled vehicle and that engine with a 5 speed manual tranny was a blast.

My brother-n-law had an 86 Toyota truck with the 22re,the truck finally rusted away to nothing,but the engine still ran strong.He beat the hell out of that poor little truck,as a kid,and couldn't kill it
