Engine Braking Fail Do This Test 8 Speed

Engine braking turns off and on when coasting down steep hill in First (or other) gear.
My truck: 2024 Ram 1500 Hemi Classic Tradesman, 8 Speed trans. no E-torque.

Start coasting down steep hill (10+ percent grade) in First gear. No brake or throttle input.
See if the engine braking works, or if it turns off and on.
My truck has intermittent enging braking. It turns off and on.

This also occurs in Second, Third, Fourth..... gear.

When towing heavy trailer the brakes overheat on a steep grade because the engine braking turns off. I have to stop to let the brakes cool.

Several dealers say there is no problem because there are no engine fault codes. BS

I complained about my truck pushing when cold
Get a good shop with a scanner and look a cat and O2 sensors well driving
