Anyone know what the big yellow plastic piece is on the clock spring?

Have a spare clock spring that came with a steering wheel I bought. Anyone know what this yellow plastic piece is for?

That's to keep the clockspring from turning before its installed, after you install the clockspring you pull it out and discard it then install the steering wheel.

Excellent that’s what I thought. I don’t recall seeing it when I changed my Wheel.
