Bedrug - Should I use the J-clip?

The instructions mention that the J-Clip might interfere with some tonneau covers. I haven't decided which tonneau cover I am going to buy. Am I safe just installing the J-clip? Anyone experience any conflicts??

I used the J-clip on my bedrug and have a Gator tri-fold cover, no issues whatsoever.

I'm using the j-clip on mine with the Ram branded Bakflip. Almost 2 years now.
