As title says...I accidently got wax on my bed liner and it's driving me nuts.
I know it will eventually wear off with time, but Iam looking for some techniques/products to remove the wax. I've heard that Simple Green and a toothbrush might be effective with breaking down the wax. Any advice would be great...and please don't say to use Armor All or some silicone based products...Iam looking to remove the wax, not mask it for a few days.
Thanks!

Not joking here at all, but tape off the painted area with masking tape, and apply peanut butter to the bedliner w/ wax on it. Leave it for maybe 10-15 minutes, then wipe it off. An actual wash will be required to clean off all the peanut butter residue, but it will have absorbed the wax so the liner underneath should be clean. This works!

EDIT: upon further review, some suggest this fix is only temporary, and the wax will show again months later....With that in mind 3M makes a product called Adhesive Remover that will safely remove the wax from the bedliner, but must be carefully applied as it will also remove the wax you applied to your paint!

In the future, tape off any rubber/plastic trim with masking tape before waxing, to avoid the headache of removal.

I have some adhesive remover left over from when I de-badged my truck. I just don't want any discoloration. My friend did this to his truck and it eventually lightened up after many months....Im just looking for a quicker way. Thanks for the advice spankis!

As for the adhesive remover, it removes the wax, but can also take some of the luster out of the plastic making the color appear lighter after time in the sun. After using the adhesive remover, use some kind of trim dressing. 303 Aerospace protectant, "Back to Black", or even good old pledge used on furniture works well.

A shiny one
All Purpose Cleaner on an old MF towel works like a charm for this type of thing.

I like to save my peanut butter for eating. :)

Brake cleaner and a pressure washer. Test a small area just to be sure.
