Washington, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Nevada, Oregon, and California (all the fun states) allow studs in winter. If you don’t get ice then there are many other winters to choose from. 2 sets of tires is always the way to go.Studs are the only way to go for ice, but illegal in many states.
100% agree on the 2 sets of wheels.Washington, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Nevada, Oregon, and California (all the fun states) allow studs in winter. If you don’t get ice then there are many other winters to choose from. 2 sets of tires is always the way to go.
You said you wanted the “best” winter tires. Those are, hands down, any dedicated snow tires. They just work better, period. They rubber is designed for cold weather, and they have TONS of siping. Both which translate into a great winter tire?True, and I am hoping for a tire that is true all season, I have been bust researching all of the recommends and have my work cut out for me... Great response and thoughts. I really appreciate the interaction and the suggestions.
