The whole brake thing confuses me. Like I know the brake pad compound and calipers help with stopping distance, but does drilled/slotted rotors really help that much?

the idea is that the hole and slots allows the gasses that form from friction to be released giving you better preformance

Yes.
They allow for air too circulate ''thru'' the rotor ,cooling it, which in turn creates better performance. Heated brakes tend too fade leaving a spongy feeling and ultimately brake failure. That rarely happens on cars or pick-up trucks, but when the vehicles get bigger so does the problem.:birgits_tiredcoffee

wow we just hit our 1600 post very good guys... garner going on this look on the higher end vehicles they all have them, they are stock on all srt models. that being said i have read where the drilled rotors have actuallycracked. so maybe being just slotted would be better, maybe i am by no means an engineer

Yeah drilled rotors crack over time. I know high end cars have them, but they have the brembo disc and caliper and a special pad to have better braking. I was just wondering why people upgrade the rotors, but not calipers and in most cases pads since they do most the work

I was contemplating them, but I dunno how you would prevent rust from getting at the exposed ares not touched by the pads, holes slots. thet sorta thing.
On another line, Okla wanna do a friendly paypal bet on the fiesta bowl? Say 20$ you give me 14 .5 points, the line is 17, but I don't like ties.lol. you game?
I'll take Uconn of course. Oefootball you game as well?
