Blacked Taillight Trim

Ive seen a ton of trucks local to me with the chrome trim around the taillights(i think they are all limiteds?)

Got me thinking, has anyone that has those tails painted the chrome trim around them black? Im not completely sold on the Spyder or recon taillights. I do like the look of my OEMs that i smoked with the luxe auto spa tint, but i wouldn't mind something more. I did i a quick search but couldnt come across anything.

I wondered the same thing. I'm not a fan of the chrome on the tail lights and think it would look better color matched. I'm sure there is someone that will have a picture soon.

Start with some 5" black tips and get that tail lookin like it shoulda from the factory ... Lol

From what I have seen, its not chrome thats around the tail lights but a clear ring. Creating that illusion. I remember seeing another Laramie and saying wow that looks nice as chrome trim but upon closer inspection its clear. And so I looked at mine, which ALSO have the clear trim around the light BUT because my truck is white, the clear doesnt stand out making it distinguishable. The gray I saw and the one you posted, does. Who knows, maybe I am wrong and it is chrome.

Guess it's a trim level thing as my bighorn has no ring just tinted tails!

That makes sense that its just a clear border showing the chrome inside. I would have thought i can find the bezel on their own if it was just a trim piece.

Just a thought, you could go with the OEM sport tails? They float around for cheap on craigslist, offerup etc. Same light but without the chrome/clear corners and are tinted a slight shade darker.
