Decided to take apart as opposed to risking it and just throwing in new heads and hope for the best of luck. #1#3 inside of intake runner melted into valves and seeped into side top of piston. Some of it did seep into crankcase area. I don’t see any cracks or damage to cylinder walls. I see crosshatching but I’ve been wrong more times than I’ve been right. I’d like to take it to get it thoroughly looked at from a professional but I can’t afford the additional $2k on top of new heads. So i might have to tackle it myself. Install new rings, bearings. Any recommendations from those with experience on where to start as far as cleaning, installation etc. what to avoid? Piston with melted plastic can prob be scraped off without much effort. I just want to be careful about damaging Anything. Can I throw the piston with rods in parts washer tank? I’m learning as I go along and want to avoid making any errors before more damage is done. Thank you if anything.
