Carven 5" Chrome tips

Hey guys,

I finally installed my Carven 5" tips. They look so good but they are huge! Muffler noise is deeper overall. I dont consider it louder but deeper. I am running the Carven Progressive muffler.

Overall I am very happy with them!

Yea my car has to much chrome to convert so I am going to make chrome/white look good lol!

Looks great. I went with the 5" black ones...but my Rebel has a black bumper and no chrome. If I had a Laramie or a Big Horn with a chrome bumper...I would have gone with the chrome ones....great choice!

Why do people block the tag when they post pics of their vehicles? | see it on CL all the time. Don't you drive around all day with it showing? Park it in public?

Nice looking tips, though. I'd go with black on mine as well, no chrome for Big Yellow.

Some people block the plates as they're are unscrupulous officers out there...and other people who have access to DVS files to run plates.

I could run any plate I found or see in a matter of seconds...but I don't...why? Its illegal. I have to have a legitimate reason to run a plate. I've been in LE for almost 24 years...and I won't compromise my integrity or risk my job. This isn't always the case with some people. Minnesota officers have full access to ALL MN Drivers License info...and many officers have gotten into trouble running celebrities, news casters, sports figures, etc. Idiots...all of them (the officers).

Its personal choice. Some hide their plates online...some don't.

Now blocking it with a robot...thats ingenious. The original poster should put the robots arms out and add a little caption: "Don't look at my plate!!!"

These are Mufflex, but the comments above about too much chrome to black it out apply for mine. Besides, true blue actually looks good with chrome.


You never know when there might be a Troll online. I blackout not just my plate, but my house number too. I may share a forum with all-y'all, but I don't know all-y'all.

Why provide someone with a valid license plate number for my state that they might abuse?

I'm right next to the People's Kleptocracy of the District of Columbia. They have speed cameras everywhere--probably even in the public toilets for God sake.

All I need is somebody dummying up a version of my plate to go joyriding.

Yeah, never understood that. CL is funny as people place their finger in front of the lens to block the plate. Do we have a problem with people looking up plates and showing up at peoples doors? haha


ON TOPIC:

The tips look nice. They are larger for sure but not 'too large' and look thinner. I have a feeling at some point I'll be doing this.

There is no real "kit" if I recall. Its a simple muffler, complete with pipes and hangers attached, plug and play with the stock system. Remove the stock muffler, install the new Carven. No welding required.

The 5" Tips are an add on.

I got my Progressive and 5" tips for $469.99 shipped with the 8% off code.

If you buy just the muffler its like $319.99 regular price. If you buy the "kit" with the 5" tips included then its $499.99 regular price. I'll post up the code I used a couple months ago...may still work. I put it in another thread.

Thanks guys! I am still getting use to their size but its better then stock for sure. I bought the tips when Carven had them on sale for 179.00. I just havent had the time to put them on.

As for Mr. Robot... I figure it cant hurt to cover the tag and its easy to do so why not.

Anyways, next is the level! shocks are sitting beside me as we speak. I just dont have time to get them installed until thanksgiving lol
