CEL, how to get code?

On my 2010 Ram I could pull the code with the 3 key turn on trick. Not so much with the 2018.
Is there a way to pull a code without a code reader?

I don't believe there is a way to without some sort of obd2 reader. Your cheapest option would be to get a simple bluetooth obd2 reader off of Amazon or ebay ~ $15 and download something like the torque app and check and clear the codes. Then just keep it either plugged in or in the glove box and you'll always have a code reader with you

Either one of those places or any shop can read the codes

Yes, just about any auto parts store can read the codes. How much they can actually help diagnose the issue is questionable and really depends on where you go.

Well, I've ordered an OBD2 code reader and an iPhone app called OBD Fusion. I'll let you know how it all works once the plug in reader arrives.

Meanwhile, the CEL has disappeared & the remote start works again!!!

I used the obd fusion app for extra gauges on a 05 2500 5.9L cummins I owned. Works well for monitoring and clearing codes
