Loving my rigids in the stock tow hook block off plates. I'm looking to get perhaps some diode dynamics 6" SS6 bars in the tow hook area and move my rigids up higher into the grill area. I have the stock brilliant chrome grille on there now but I also have a e-autogrille black gloss grille that I had on my 14 blackout express. It will swap right on but wanted to see if it would look good.

So I photoshopped my current truck with a picture of the black grille on my truck and tried a few different things. The black areas would be ABS sheet that I would either leave textured side out or wrap in carbon fiber vinyl (goes with other stuff on the truck). The Truck has chrome mirrors and chrome bumpers/wheels but I have 22" black hellcats that I swap on during the summer. Truck will also eventually get the black westin drop steps I took off from the old truck as well and I have gloss black mirror covers to go on. So there will be a bit of black on the truck in the next couple of months when it warms up. Really the only thing chrome will be the bumpers and door handles (minus the badges which have carbon fiber overlays on them). So the gloss black grille wont look too outa place as I already swapped my blacked out FXR headlights from my 14 as well.

Thoughts? which one do you guys like better?

Here is what the truck looks like as of now (stock grille and rigids in the tow hook holes).

Ill probably be in the minority but I like the grille as is. I personally think those style grilles look better with Sports than our Laramies.

I like the 4th one, but I might be a little biased.

I'm, I think the chrome stock grille looks good with the chrome bumper, if you're going to use the black one, go with the second to tie the grill into the bumper with the badge

I like the way that turned out. Do you have any pics from back of the grill?

Didn’t take any pics of the back of the grill when I had it off, sorry.
Here’s on in daylight, with the lights off though.

I used 3/4” grommet mount LED’s, and made the plates to hold them. In this pic, I was undecided on the mounting location, so I just used zip ties to hold them in place.

The wiring for the passenger side lights, runs along the core support. I tied into the passenger side marker light wiring, directly behind the center of the grill, and left a little slack so I could move the lights around a bit.

Ah, gotcha. They are more of an accent/marker light. Nice job.

Call me old school, but the color of the grill needs to match the color of the bumper IMHO. So I would leave it stock or go with a chrome custom grill, or paint or replace the bumper with a black one and then consider the black custom grills.

I myself have a Laramie Limited which came stock with a painted black bumper and a chrome grill. The chrome grill looks out of place to me on my black truck with black bumper. I’m looking for an aftermarket black grill to match my factory black bumper but I can’t find any I like. I would like to get one that looks like the new Rebel grills but no one offers anything like that for a 2014 Laramie Limited.

Good luck!

I would love to swap all the chrome out for paint matched bumpers. I thought about plastidipping the bumper but I wouldnt want black. Ive already swapped headlights to black. I have considered cutting the stock chrome grille inserts but those things are like $200+ for those dang things. Ive also thought about just doing a single row 52" curved LED bar under the bumper like my last truck.

Ive seen the chrome and black rebel grills for the 13-18 Ram 1500s all over ebay.

While I found many Rebel style grills out there for 15-17 Rams, there are only a couple I can find for 13-14 Ram’s. They look pretty cheap to me, but I didn’t even know they were out there so thanks for letting me know.
