Cold Air Intake

I am wanting to get a cold air intake on my truck I am looking at K&N, Vararam, and a few others. I am wanting to improve HP, GM, and over all engine performance. Any input would be helpful.

if you want a true cold air intake, get a s&b or a volant... I have the volant and like how it keeps it looking like a stock air intake.

I bought mine from these guys as they were the cheapest I found, also It has the dry filter thats maintenance free for 100,000 miles. Sounds a little deeper when you step on it, I see a 1mpg increase with it (maybe would get better but cant keep my foot off of it...) and intake temp drops 10-20 degrees...

I honestly wouldn't expect to gain ALOT out of just a CAI. Before my CAI the only mod i had was the FM 40 series. I got the K&N CAI and installed it rather easily and the first thing i noticed was the engine tone was deeper and sounded more aggressive. All in all the only gain i really felt like i got out of it was more engine noise (in a good way in my opinion). The more i've read into CAI they are better when complemented with other upgrades like tuners, headers, exhaust, etc.. Also would look at the design as well, some designs aren't really good if you plan to do alot of off-roading or go through deep water.

I installed the K&N FIPK Gen II air induction kit on my 07' truck. It is designed for the 03' thru 08' 5.7L HEMI. I love it, the performance increase was amazing. When I can keep my foot out of it, my mileage increased 3MPG on the highway. The acceleration was much smother and this CAI replaced an Spectre CAI that the previous owner had installed on my truck.
