Where can I purchase a complete dash for a ‘96 Ram 1500? Not a dash cover, I’m looking for the entire dash (core, instrument panel, trim, etc.) for my son.

I came to this forum to basically ask the EXACT question. I have a '97 Dodge Ram 1500 where the dashboard has COMPLETELY disintegrated. I don't have a garage to park in so it has been subjected to sunlight for it's 20+ years.

Not only do I need the COMPLETE plastic dash (from the front all the way up and over to the window), but quite a bit of the metal frame work has broken.


honestly, I am very disappointed in Dodge for this. This truck has never been in a wreck, so this level of destruction shouldn't happen - even over 20 years.

I purchased a new top from lmctruck.com. Seems pretty good—they claim it is more durable than OEM, not saying too much there. You have to remove the dash to install it. My interior is tan/camel and the color and finish doesn’t match oem perfectly.

Only dash tops and covers are available new. Some full dash Assy today cost $600+. I put mine back together piece by piece. Some metal, welding, some wood, lots of plastic glue, gorilla glue, fiberglass, bonds, sanding and paint. It’s not perfect just yet, but close.,I’m working on a aluminum dash for a mold to make them in fiberglass.

SRT parts.com has some available parts ,although they are listed as 1998 and a couple years above. This may be a place to inquire if they have anything else ,or how close theirs would fit.

They make a strengthened Dash for these trucks.
Mine should get here today.
They've reinforced the attach points, and make it out of a heavier duty plastic or something.

I will share my results as soon as I get it installed.
I was in the process of having my winshield replaced and removed the rug dash cover while doing so.
My dash had crumbled into about eighteen pieces

I installed my new dash today that I received from Geno's garage.
My truck is a 2001 2500 ram.
I googled pulling out the glove box and passenger airbag.......piece of cake.
The instructions say to drop the steering column down, but I did not do that.
My old dash top was so bad, that there wasn't enough left to glue a cover too.....which is why I went with a complete replacement.
Windshield is coming tomorrow.

im interested in a fiberglass one ..are you going to make them in tan? or can we just paint them?

i looked at LMC, they only have gray replacement dashtops....did you get a tan one? was it the glue on cover? in think they make those in different colors , but i need the actual dash top
