Yes. There is steel in them. I think most of us understand that. But there is LESS steel in them. If they were exactly the same as the old control arms and THEN they added plastic over the top of THAT, it would weigh MORE than the original control arm, not LESS. Hence the weight savings comes from reducing the amount of steel and that is where people don't like the fact that steel has been replaced with plastic. I don't really care either way. I'm not rich and I don't own a truck new enough to have those control arms anyway. The only thing that I don't like about them is that the fact that the ball joint isn't replaceable. You have to replace the entire control arm.THEY ARE MADE OF STEEL AND COATED WITH A COMPOSITE!!!
THEY ARE STEEL!!!! THE END!!!!
GEEZ!!!
Also, here's a video of a guy taking a magnet and an air grinder to one:

People have opinions @Six Turboed. And you know what they say about those. It doesn't mean we're ready to start fist fighting about it. It's just a testosterone-fueled conversational debate; nothing to get upset about. I have a severe anxiety / panic attack / PTSD issue thanks to the military. If I let dumb little things like this get to me, I would literally go insane. We ALL love Dodge (or Stellantis) Ram trucks or we wouldn't be here! For better or worse, we're all in this together!!
