Cv axle/intermediate shaft blown out

Hi! I’m curious if this is the typical intermediate shaft issue or if the cv axle is missing a retaining ring? Excuse my ignorance if I’m wrong. Thanks guys!

That is for sure a bit loose sounds like it has a c clip as u hear it stop however it looks like a cheapo aftermarket cv axle may just be made like crap.

Yeah, I have grease slinging out of the outer boot on my 2004 RX330. I discovered this yesterday while doing my oil change. Fortunately, Toyota/Lexus offers a complete kit with both boots for each axle, the grease, the boot clamps, and a new circle clip to retain the inner joint in the transaxle. All for 56 dollars + tax. What a bargain!

I've got 2 friends that have bought this kit from Rick Rood with great results, this great north salt belt doesn't help.
