DIY leather seat covers

Has anyone with a 4th gen done DIY leather seat recovers?
I'm hung up in buying the leather covers and installing then myself. Um looking for any insight/advice besides have a pro do it. Too much $$$$$.
I can get the covers fairly reasonably. I just wanna know what I'm in for.

Im about to do this on my 3.5gen, my sport cloth covers have clips under the seat. You undo them and peel the cloth off and reverse that for the install of leather. There are velcro connections between the cover and the seat foam in certain sections that you need to line up just right.

Its fairly easy, and you will save a lot of money. My local shop quoted me for about 1500, I can get my leather for $650...

I would check a few places that do Katzkin. You can usually get it done for pretty cheap.

My shop only charged $300 to install katzkins in my quadcab. I helped my buddy install them in his regular cab and it was a big sweaty half day hassle for two guys.

How is the rear seat backrest removed from the 4th gens??
