I did an inexpensive unit from eBay but have no real numbers from it.

More like +15hp in real life

Similar to what the the S&B and Vararam intake will give you.

Will you "feel" that 5% power increase, probably not.

Supposedly Vararam is going to give you the most power gain out of the intakes for Rams

Vararam gives that kind of results.

^x2.
Dodge/RAM didn't choke this engine the way the geniuses at Chubby have.

There are a few, give you even more power than that. One has 'Edelbrock' on the top of it..... yes, Edelbrock supercharger:roflsquared:

I seriously doubt just adding any intake to a naturally aspirated engine would get anywhere near that kind of gain to the wheels. Maybe if they threw that intake on and were tuning it at the same time but 30whp is a huge gain for any bolt on

I'm sure a mass air flow system will always see better gains than A MAP setup

If the claim is true, which I know is not (in the manner they claim), the part they don't tell you is that tuning occurred simultaneously. The uninitiated unfortunately tend to buy (literally) into the purported claims.

MAF versus speed density, the results would be the same as it comes down to how much oxygen and fuel is present and timing. CAIs are good for noise and ingesting (hot) underhood air...

Errr, well, that wouldn't exactly qualify as naturally aspirated, now would it?

This guy added an intake to his Silverado and got some pretty impressive numbers +30hp on the before and after on the dyno (vid below).

Is there a common, go-to intake we have for the Hemi that puts out similar numbers?

Finally had a chance to view the video.
Its a closed induction, so not hot air from engine compartment. That means its just like the S&B or Volant made for RAM. 15-20 HP to wheels is what they claim, and that's about what has been asserted for similar CAIs on RAM (S&B, VARARAM, Volant +/-) and I buy that it was without tuning as well.

But the thing is with an additional 15-20 HP you might feel a little sump'n, but if you couldn't spin 20" rims before, you wont be able after without tuning either.

I think installing a Pedal Commander on your truck, you would feel more difference than an intake.

Take away throttle lag and your truck is quicker off the line.

Add an intake and it gets louder on excelleration.

My intake gave me impressive gains. ITs a bit noisey, but the results were staggering

Agree with benefit of Pedal Commander.

Enclosed intakes like S&B, Volant or top engine ram intakes like Vararam are not the open-box noisemakers you are referring to (K&N, Araid, etc. ).

Poseur loud throttle noise is a trademark of the open-box "hot" air intakes, not the enclosed type which draw colder outside air for better combustion.

Love my Vararam. Of all my vehicles, in all my life, the Vararam is the winner as far as 'noticing a difference'.

Trueth be told, nobody here really knows what mods add how much torque, or horse power, because nobody dynos their truck. I've always thought that was odd. On the Mustang forum l was on, everybody and their brother put their car on a dyno, and we knew how much you were getting out of an Air Raid CAI, and a tuner.

Here, we just speculate.

Not so.

Matt at Moe's Performance is a RAM owner and has built his truck for the drag strip. He uses actual performance at the track to establish the validity of the mods he recommends.

I seem to recall one of the guy's from Bully's Performance had some dyno info on his truck as well.

Thing is they're trucks, not mail order ***** *********** kits (like Pony Cars).

It costs money to dyno and unless its part of your business that's hard to justify.

I don't doubt the results but you have to look at the method. Hood was up and fan up front expelling huge amount of hot air. I would liked to see what they would have got with the hood closed.
