I have been kicking around the idea of selling my 2014 1500 and buying a Dodge Durango R/T due to some life changes. I qualify for Ford's X-Plan and have looked at the Explorer, Edge and Flex. X-Plan would save me a ton of money as their is an additional $1,500 rebate on the Edge. The Durango must be selling pretty well as they are only offering $750 off at the moment and the dealers aren't willing to come down a whole lot.

So my question is, does Dodge have a friend's and family discount, something like the X-Plan? If so how does it work and is there anyone here willing to share? I'm trying to keep it in the "Ramily" if you know what I mean.

TIA, for any feedback! :)

They are doing 0% for 60 or 1.9% for 72. That is a nice incentive.

My truck is paid for, so I won't be financing.

I live in Anchorage, Alaska so the options are pretty limited unfortunately. Seattle is almost a 3,000 mile drive one way.

You can join tread lightly, wait a month, and then get 1% off invoice pricing plus a $75 fee. They also have various levels of affiliate pricing. One of my companies's divisions supplies parts and we can get discount pricing on just about anything made in the US. I found that Chryslers's plan is better as GM and Ford only supplement certain models and the savings weren't as much even then. At the moment this month most dealers are selling 2-3% below invoice and then you have the factory rebates, which are in the $3000-$5000 range on trucks if you finance. I've been known to finance to get a deal and immediately pay off the loan.

through my employer i qualify for all GM, Ford, Chrysler x-plan, supplier, affiliate pricing. they all pretty much work the same. x amount off msrp, throw any factory rebates on top of it.

If i can ask your reasoning about the durango as i came from a '11 durango (same gen as now) to the ram. I have a CC and the space for the middle row in the d is nothing compared to the space in my CC. When i had a rear facing car seat in the d i had to have it behind the pass seat, then the seat had to go all the way up also. I have a 34 inseam so i keep the seats almost all the way back. in my CC a rear facing seat fits perfectly. i have 1 forward facing and two rear facing in my cc currently.

back in the day I had to drive out to my uncle's place and he gave me a piece of paper (legal sized ) with his employee pin number (worked the line-minivan plant), not sure if they do that anymore but it saved me some serious dough. Good luck.

Well, if you are like any of my freinds who live in Alaska. you use yoru credit card, to pay for everything, and have a ton of air miles.

GO buya truck from that Dillion Dodge guy, in Idaho, I think. Fly out, sing tghe papers, then have the trruck shipped to Alaska on a transport. Not really that much.

Luck to you

I recently priced a Ford F 150 before I got my new Sport. My company has the X Plan. I went to 2 dealers and found that the current incentives ( FEB 2016) were much better than using the X plan. X plan may cancel some of the incentives...

This is a great idea, thanks!

Several reasons, first is we are looking at getting a smaller house, and it has a normal two car garage that my CC long bed won't fit in. My dogs are getting old and it's hard for them to jump into the back, also living in Alaska it's too cold for them back there on long trips. The Durango while large, is still quite a bit smaller than my truck for city driving which can be a PITA. I also really want the adaptive cruise control for highway driving.

If someone is going to hand you free money, you take it!
I'd rather not have by credit run and deal with signing up for monthly payments. I might agree if interest rates were higher than near zero.

Thanks, I thought about this, but from Seattle it's $2,000 to ship a car, plus the hassles involved...

X-Plan gets you a set price, PLUS any applicable rebates. But I do agree that often times you can negotiate a better price than X-Plan.

Not sure what yo mean by interest rates higher than near zero. Obviously you wouldn't keep this money in your savings account but rather in some kind of investment vehicle.

Also, you never know what will happen in life so it is good to have cash on hand as well. Just put the cash in a separate account and do direct payments on the loan from that account.
