Ram moved many commonly used controls onto the screen, like the seat heating and ventilation and the towing settings. But the problem is that the screen itself is laggy and sometimes doesn't respond to inputs at all, so you end up double- or triple-pressing something until it reacts. The surround-view camera system also appears tiny on the screen, and if you use Android Auto, it takes up only about half the screen. (Apple CarPlay does look much better.) This display is a definite disappointment given how appealing the rest of the interior is.

Fail all around. The smaller horizontal screen in the Wranglers is much more user friendly than the "big" screen in the new Rams. Easier to see while actually paying attention to driving, leaves the commonly used buttons as...buttons. Otherwise, the Ram's interior is easily the best of the bunch.

But the tech is worth highlighting because it's where the F-150 really bests the Ram 1500. A 12-inch screen is standard across the entire F-150 lineup, and it's fantastic to use with its simple menu structure, the best surround-view camera of the bunch, and a navigation system that doesn't require a subscription. (Imagine that.)

Ford has also resisted the urge to throw all of the controls into the screen, meaning that commonly used functions, including our personal favorite, a camera button, are all easy to find.

Ford gets it.

I can't make up my mind on the Tundra body style. From some angles it's fairly attractive design language but from straight on from the side it's just...ick. I can't say *why* I don't like it and I've really given it some thought, but it just doesn't jive for me.

I agree with the assessment of the Chevy interior. The screen and buttons are nice, but they cannot figure out comfortable seats on most trims. The last generation of Colorado ZR2 was easily the worst seats I've ever sat in in a vehicle. I would have given the guy $20 to not let me test drive it. I also hate the new video game style shifter where you use the Konami code to change gears instead of just a linear shift pattern.

The Tundra gets similar fuel economy to my Power Wagon. I don't know if that's impressive for the PW or a smear on the Toyota...

I agree with Edmunds on this one, especially for the F-150 Tremor. Stupidly expensive, like all trucks now, but if I were to buy a half ton again that'd be it.

GM still rides like a haywagon from the 80's. I couldn't believe they'd done nothing to improve their seats or suspension. Just ever more electronic gizmos. wtf

Ram still rides best, I don't know if anybody has a decent drivetrain anymore.

The only exception of the ones I drove was the Silverado ZR2. The suspension in that is cush AF. The multimatic shocks really do a good job on rough surfaces at speed. Maybe not quite Raptor level, but surprisingly composed and comfortable.

The seats were fine for the time I was in it, but that wasn't all that long.

The best seats I've ever had in a truck remain the cloth ones from the 4th Gen. The leather in my PW is a bit more firm. It's not a huge difference until hour 6+, but it's a difference never the less.

The leather in my 2017 Ram 2500 is the most comfortable ride of any vehicle I've owned, hands down. Important now that I'm creaky, but don't go anywhere! :p

It's the top end off road trim for whatever model it's attached to. Front and rear lockers, upgraded multimatic shocks, etc.

The Canyon even has under body cameras facing front and back so you can see if a rock will hit your diff or whatever.

I would have probably said the same about my 2018 until I bought a Lexus GX 460, but then again it isn't really fair to compare a Ram with a Lexus.
