Leaving an out of town campsite this morning pulling our travel trailer, the engine wouldn't crank. It is a 2020 Ram 1500 Hemi, with 60K miles. I jump started it with an electric portable jump starter, and it started right up. But all the way home, about 3 hours, the orange check engine light stayed on. The battery is 3 years old, so I will replace it. But why would the engine light stays on? I started it 3 times after I got home, and it started right up with the battery. But the engine light stays on. When I disconnect the battery to replace the battery, will the light go out? Thanks.

U need to pull codes since engine light on. If U do not have a scanner or reader go to Oreillys, Autozone have them check for codes. Write all of them down and post. U can also look up the codes

seems fishy

I agree to pull the code ...prior to buying a new battery,IMO.It is possible it is something unrelated. Your battery is 3y/o and may not have been the reason(have Oreillys check your battery too) for jumping your truck and /or have something else, you are unaware of.
