the heads are the last piece of the engine buildup that i needed to get. got them on the way today. got the eq iron ram 2.02's. now i just need to decide if i am gonna have them ported or not. i mean, i know it would be better to get them done, but just donnt know if i am gonna. got them from odessa cylinder heads. they are on ebay, but i called them direct. 760$ shipped to my door. the best price i could find.

now i just need to get my torque conv, shift kit, trans filter, and fluid. probably get the tc on the way next week.

i am getting closer. cannt wait. hopefully by the end of jan the motor should be getting tore down.

pumped!!!!!!!

That 5.9L is gonna fly! Keep us posted on your mods and Datalogging is also a good way to see the improvements on paper as you go. Good Luck with the heads!

Does an SC 3815 work with the 5.9 set-up? Don't know much about the 2nd gen PCM vs Chips.

You could looking into a LCM-1 to datalog A/F verses rpm but just taping it so you can replay it back should work good with your AEM.

shooting for the end of jan for the build up. i just need to decide if i am gonna do my tranny stuff right along with the motor build or after. i was wanting to do it all at once(be easier that way) but it would be nice to see what kind of gains each gave me.

If you think the tranny will hold together with the built engine then you could wait... I would build the trans at the same time though.

trans shifts great now. but that doesnt mean very much when you start throwing extra power at it. you know that these 46re trans arent the best anyway. but mine does only have 65k on it. i am thinking it would hold up for a little bit. just enough to see if there is a difference.

i am not planning a whole lot for the tranny anyway. shift kit,tc,deep pan, temp guage, and have the bands adjusted. gonna take it to a guy i know who has worked in a trans shop for atleast 25yrs. and probably see what else he says. he will probably want me to pump it up alot more. especially when i tell him i am planning on a procharger in the future too.
