they are all alum. they didnt go to the chrome clads till 06 if I remember right

I have chrome clads on the 04 and have used pol alum on the wifes 05 I bought off a guy.

Ok tell me if I'm wrong about this but that has got to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. I could see if the rim behind the cover was a different shape. But its the same rim with essentially a metal sticker on it.

Cheaper to do that than to actually chrome the rim

I guess but I just expect a certain amount of quality I guess that simply isn't there.
