I am submitting this complaint regarding the premature dashboard delamination on my 2021 Ram 2500 Limited. The dashboard has developed significant bubbling, separation, and cracking despite the vehicle being properly maintained and used under normal operating conditions. This type of deterioration is not consistent with reasonable customer expectations for a truck of this age and value.

While the appearance of the dashboard is concerning, my primary concern is vehicle safety. The dashboard houses the passenger-side airbag deployment area, and the delamination raises legitimate questions regarding whether the integrity of the airbag deployment panel has been compromised. A dashboard is engineered to function as part of the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), and any structural separation or deformation in this area should be evaluated as more than a cosmetic issue.

As someone with a quality assurance background, I understand the importance of product reliability and the potential consequences when material failures occur. Delamination can create conditions that may affect airbag deployment characteristics, generate loose debris during a collision, or interfere with the designed breakaway features of the dashboard. At a minimum, this condition warrants a thorough engineering evaluation rather than being dismissed as normal wear and tear.

My truck has approximately 128,000 miles, and while I recognize it is outside the basic warranty period, a dashboard should not experience this level of material failure after only a few years of service. Numerous Ram owners have reported similar failures, suggesting this may represent a broader product quality issue rather than an isolated incident.

I respectfully request that Ram review this matter as a potential manufacturing or material defect and consider providing goodwill assistance with the repair. Additionally, I request written confirmation as to whether the current condition of the dashboard has been evaluated for any impact on the performance of the passenger-side airbag system.

I have been a loyal Ram owner and hope the company will stand behind the quality and safety of its products. I look forward to a fair resolution that reflects Ram's commitment to customer satisfaction and vehicle safety.
