I will say I do notice that the labels on the jugs of PUP have changed. Just an update on label, but it did change.
They changed the SDS and now they list this for PUP 0w-20.

"Interchangeable low viscosity base oils, contains one or more of the following CAS-numbers: 64742-53-6, 64742-54-7, 64742-55-8, 64742-56-9, 64742-65-0, 68037-01-4, 72623-86-0, 72623-87-1, 8042-47-5, 848301-69-9, 68649-12-7, 151006-60-9, 163149-28-8, 64741-88-4, 64741-89-5."

So far the CT stores here are all stocked as usual. Now the oil filters are getting thinner. They were always a big supplier of Fram products, amoung others, so the Fram filters are getting thinned out. I see quite a few empty shelf slots for them.
Man I really hope the Fram Ultra are a good filter. Once my RP filters are gone I stocked up on a bunch of the Ultras before they were all gone.... I guess all gone by me. In my applications anyway.
They’re fine. Fram suffers from a lot of haters who don’t realize it was FRAM who made spin-on filters universally accepted.
Yes, they make different-levels of quality…and they are priced accordingly… but even the CHEAPEST Fram will do the job it claims to do.

Love the fact I have been on Costco gas never knew and been using si-1 for back up but now I'm relieved, Exxon = synergy, Kirkland, Chevron, and of course Shell. Only 4 gases that earn the top bar of top tier shield, 5 other gas stations earned their top tier but at the bottom of the bar. Repost wherever you want in whatever thread it would benefit. So when you consider price, there is only one station that delivers = Costco top tier and bottom tier pricing.

Thanks for passing along, Mike.

There was news a month or two ago that BP was re-certifying Top Tier after dropping it at start of COVID. The announcement stated the certifying label would go on pumps starting around August, I don't recall them saying when they would start dosing gas with the required extra detergent additive.

I wonder what report this guy saw? He mentions AAA, but the only report I could find was the original from way back in the '00's.

does that sound crazy or what, we dropped our top tier because of COVID, lol. I'm glad I don't get gas there sounds like zero commitment to customers burn chambers and injectors. Also shows that top tier should be adjusted, we are running on standards that pre date GDI and ethanol blending. I think top tier started in 2004, so we had ethanol but nothing like we have now, and the combination of the two GDI/ethanol clearly top tier minimum is not enough.

Yeah they didn't mention additives by name, just showed a few labels gum out and si-1.

Around here Kwiktrip with a "K" did the same thing. I asked why and they wrote back to say they couldn't get more detergent additive.

I wrote after trade freed up later, and they said they still couldn't get it.
I call bull$hit. They stopped to reduce cost because the average dummy won't pay another 3 cents a gallon for gas. The benefit doesn't show up for thousands of miles and most aren't smart enough to know why.
The average public is dumb.

Not sure why we're talking gas additives again here, but I will mention I've relented and have to go to Costco most of the time now, since so many gas brands dropped Top Tier here. We no longer have Exxon or Mobil. Chevron has never been in the Midwest.

We have a few Costco's and a few Shell's now. All the other gas outlets were taken over by non-Top Tier or outlets that dropped Top Tier. It sucks.

If BP comes back it will help a little. You have to carefully time trips for re-fueling locales here today. Never used to be like this.
