r.e. 2017 Ram 1500 4x4 auto 3 liter diesel. 44000 miles.
Road trip last weekend. After about 230 miles the generic P 0299 alarm came up and lost turbo function. Limped into Blaire NB, to Woodhouse Ram. Found MAP sensor and then intake manifold completely sooted over to the point a couple of the butterfly valves woudn't rotate.
Got new manifold installed in about a day, covered by extended warranty. No cost at all. This dealer uses BG diesel engine cleaner on all Eco's and Cummins engine to flush away the soot before it heavily builds up. I would recommend this flush at least every 40000 miles if engine is not deleted, or to clean out engine after deletion. Will try to attached pictures. Got home OK.
