I have a 98 3500, 06 2500, 18 1500 and 2 f150s. All in good condition with good tires. I drive a 150 mile section of freeway that causes the 06 n 18 to bounce. They are the only two with 140.5 inch WB. The bounce comes from the whole truck ie neither front or back. Any ways to stop the hop? Since it's road related and it only effects the 2 with the longer WB. Thanks.

Additional info. There used to be a viabration damper that was a rubber mounted weight that you would bolt to the left side of the frame just ahead of the rear bumper. This would spoil the sympathetic oscillations, but can't find any recent info on it. Thanks

Might just be the rhythm of the road surface effecting the suspension. Tire balance and poor shocks are next 2 things I'd check and replace. But again it might just be the highway surface so no matter what you'll feel it.

What is the age, make, model, and size of the tires? And what are the tire pressures?

Is there any noticeable change to this hop when the trucks are loaded versus empty?

.

Thank you for your interest. The 1500 has 265/70r17 honkook MT, 40 lbs, one week old. I don't haul much weight on it, that's what the heavier trucks are for.
The 2500 super duty has honkook at2, 265/70r17, 60 lbs, about a year old, but have had the problem even before they were changed. A load subdues the bounce some, but you can feel it still wants to. The one f150 has hankook atm tires 5 years old n pretty shot but handles the bad roads perfectly. Thanks

I just went thru some pulling to the right issues, and can understand how this kind of thing can drive you crazy....mine ended up being something with the tires. Swapped with new ones and had them road force balanced and it's almost perfect without even touching the alignment.

So....found this link at about posting 1808 - https://www.cumminsforum.com/thread...post-your-year-and-truck-here.1396841/page-91

Reference to your damper on Ford frame picture, states it is factory on the pictured 2017 on 1809 posting.
