Living in AZ currently but building a new home in Northern Idaho. I will have a need to haul some things N, pull a trailer and get the yard all set up next year. This will be my 5th/Ram Dodge. First new car was an 85 Challenger with a 2.0L and a stick. Had a 17' Challenger 392 with a stick. Much improved:). 20041/2 2500 *** with a stick and 2018 *** auto- both Laramie's. Only really need a 1/2 ton that can pull. Started looking at Eco Diesels. Currently selling my 2013 VW Passat TDI I have had for 3 years. Bought it with 38K and 90k now. Just ran out of dieselgate warranty with was 4 years or 50K. They replaced under warranty, Heater Core, Injectors, Fuel Pump and an ECU. If they have it more than 24 hours you get a rental. 3 years was just oil and filters. Loved the program.

While looking for EcoDiesel's I find out Ram had the same issues and an even better settlement. VW you were charged to check out why the light is on. If warranty related, which it always was, it got waved. Rams deal is the light is on no matter why they have to fix it! Love it. Ram's deal on the last year of dieselgate was the 2016 models which got a 120K and a 10 year warranty after the fix. I started looking for late year-low mileage 2016's. Found a Big Horn White, 3.55, Cloth, but air sup, Tow package, etc with 65,000 miles. Pick it up tomorrow. History was it was in the shop a lot getting sorted out when new. Last owner after the fix looks like no issues just normal service intervals.

Picking it up tomorrow and putting her to work on the way back to AZ doing a little hot shotting. I have a 400lb jumbo heater, a wood stove and a vintage VW door to drop on the way south. Pays for fuel and travel on the trip plus some cash. Might grab one of 3 trailers on the way too. One is brand new all aluminum so light and reliable. Very picky about what I will pull. I hope I get a got one. Sound and looks good on video and very clean. It has 2 years and 55K of warranty left. Hope to run here a year to 18 months and sell her with remaining warranty. She has warranty until Nov 15th of 2026. We will see if Mopar is as good as VW. I had dealers that said they dont do rental cars. I said lets call VW and find out. I heard them tell a dealer "You take something off the lot or rent him a car-This was a Federal Lawsuit and you are obligated as a dealer or we will come and take the sign down'!
