Sounds (and looks) like a solid deal to me. No real red flags that jump out at me from the couple distant pics and paper trail.
If the interior is decent, and the underside does not look like it has been submerged in the Atlantic for a decade, I would say go for it.
VERY reliable and useful platform. I have an '07 1500 Sport QC, 4x4 with 5.7, tow package and factory 20" wheels. Nearing 98,000 miles, truck has only gone through two sets of front pads, one rear and two full sets of tires that wear very evenly. More options are available now for tires in that 20" size, so the price has dropped considerably for replacements and you can get everything from quiet highway high mileage tires to some decent Mud and Snow options now as well. Mine never has had an trans fluid change (still looks / smells great!) and even has the original serpentine belt.
It tows and hauls like a truck, has enough interior space to secure loads flat in the fold down rear seat, or haul six kiddies like a big mini van if you wish. Has V-8 power when you need it, or does well, like a V-6 with the cylinder deactivation when cruising. It off roads very nicely, with a nice balance of weight and good wheelbase, plus the Limited Slip rear is good and tight and keeps her rolling, even in deep sand or snow in 2WD. 4Lo is a good climber, and ground clearance is more than adequate and it has nice skid plates covering the important bits. The IRS has ridden nice, and not been a problem, even when hammering on it. Steering can be a little light and vague off-center, and if the tires are fully aired up, and the truck is empty, it will "shudder" on occasion when faced with 75 mph ripple bumps, such as interstate bridge joints, etc ... only on the highway at high speed when empty.
It's probably been the best vehicle I have ever purchased new. And I have gone through a BUNCH! I can just hope my new Power Wagon will be as reliable and useful.
Check and see what kind of rear end gear it has (tow package?)
Ours has hauled fire wood, kids as a daily driver, to light off roading, towing and touring the country. Mileage is 13-17 (with the 3.92 gears) and is still smooth, rattle free and strong. Only the interior shows wear - the outer edge of the driver side seat from a short, heavy wife sliding in and out several times a day. These were not freeway miles, but stop and go around town. It burns a little oil, specifically when running freeway speeds or hills in the Tow/Haul mode. And the plastic clip on the back of the emergency brake release handle broke about two years ago.
Other than that, it has been a awesome, do it all tool.
Jump on it, and good luck!
The only thing that looks "different" is the hood scoop. Perhaps it was modified for looks, or during a replacement or re-paint after a rear ender or something early in it's life.
Go take it for a ride, and see how she does.
Again, good luck! I hope it works out for you as well as mine has for us.
