No, reset the truck to stock, then start up the DS Downloader and then send the file to the tuner via the USB cables, the load the tune back on the truck. The original backup will then be re-stored on the tuner and you can load the new programming.

Thats awesome you got it running without having to 2 foot it. Truckin's shift points will be a very good start, that is what I started with and tweaked from there.

I think I have tweaked those points about 8 different times so far, going off of what felt the best. Just don't tweak them to much on the down shifts or it becomes a little to jumpy for my liking

Good to hear the truck isnt stalling anymore Nick. Now comes the fun of tweaking it little by little to get it where you want it.

Umm, I have a question. What's the difference between using the Diablo to raise your idle and using the Superchips to raise your idle?

Did you have the 3815 and not the 3865?

Ok, what is it that I'm not understanding? Sidewinder cam is advertised as a friendly cam with a smooth idle. It has 114 lsa and can even run using a stock TC. So why is Nick's truck having such a idle problem? Something doesn't seem right. In my mind this should be a sweetheart to run....

With the sc the only idle increase you get is what comes as part of the canned tune. With the diablo you can raise it as much as you like and tweak it until it is just right.

There is no explaination for why Nicks truck isnt running. My only guess is going back to the fact that hemi engines are extremely finicky when it comes to tuning/cams. The same cam might run on 20 other hemis, but that doesnt gaurantee it will run on the next one. Just because Nick has an 05 only means that its easier to custom tune it -- doesnt mean it can run more on just the stock tune.

I think we can all agree we wish we had Jason's PCM. 22+ mpgs highway and still able to run a cam on canned tune? best of both worlds

That would not be correct sir. I had a Hemi in my previous MegaCab and had an option to raise idle in increments right up to I think it was 1500 rpm.

and I agree with AF Hemi, I have had Hemis come into our dealership with the sidewinder cam in them with a 100% stock PCM tune.

In park. Once you put it in drive it reverts back to the canned tune idle.

now that one I guess I will have to concede you, since I was only playing around with mine and didn't permenently change it.

Now I wish I had just to see.

Can also go to the dealer if you need to, DRBIII and the Starscan can both bump idle.

I remember that a lot of us got excited when we first saw it on our tuners bc we thought it was the first step toward custom tuning. But as it turns out it only works in park.

I don't think you'll see custom tuning from them. They are the only tuner we don't void warranty on at our dealership. It's the only one regional service reps let fly because its CARB certification.

I'm about to pull the trigger and buy a Bullydog for my CTD though, but **** I fix the things for a living LOL.

Agreed. That is why I am going to go with SCT for custom tuning. Can't wait around for custom tuning from SC when it probably won't happen.
