I just changed out my steering wheel to a leather steering wheel with audio controls and now my service Airbag light is on. I took it back apart to ensure the connectors are connected and they are. What is the next step?? Thanks

I’m not 100 sure it works on newer models but disconnecting the negative battery cable for a couple minutes usually does the trick.

Tried that. Had it disconnected when i did the switch install. Then disconnected it to try and reset the airbag system.

Did you make sure you held the clock spring in it's original spot?

When I changed mine I didn't do that and had my traction control light on and cruise control wouldn't work. Maybe on newer models it's the airbag light that comes on.

Just out of curiosity, is it the original airbag?

My clock spring was out, no airbag light. Took it back apart, fix clock spring, put it back together. Now know traction control, but I have the air bag light. I've taken it apart again to check the connections, I've disconnected the battery, again to try and reset it, even put the original wheel back on, nothing fixed it.

I took it to a dealer, they hooked it up and said I need a new airbag control module.
