How Can I tell if I have an 8 Speed?

I crawled under the truck and saw I have 3.92 gears when I thought I had 3.55. Its a 2014 5.7l 4x4. When I use the manual shift on the steering column it only lets me select 6 speeds but when I'm driving normally and not flooring it, it appears to have more speeds. It will do about 45mph in 1st gear.

If you don't have a dial shifter you don't have an 8 speed.

Shift on the column = 6 speed it's really werid about its gears it's just a modified 5 speed.
