Great video! This was one of the first things I noticed about the truck.
I took mine off today and it looks great! Now to find some Goo-Gone.

I don’t know why they even put the vinyl on there. My 2012 2500 had it, my 2016 2500 didn’t. Now my 2018 does have it again. What the hell....

Well my 2016 2500 Tradesman didn’t have it but my wife’s 2016 2500 Bighorn does. So who knows lol. Hers is gapping and cracking now.

Yes [emoji1303] nicer overall look, and good instructive video.

Looks great [emoji1303] without the black vinyl. [emoji481][emoji481][emoji481][emoji481][emoji481][emoji481][emoji1303][emoji1303][emoji1303]

Not all trucks came with the vinyl... some where adding/painting their b-pillars to make the one window effect..

Heat gun help? I've removed a few and never had to use a heat gun, and it went really fast.

Just finished my red 2017 Sport. Instead of a heat gun, I parked in the sun and after about 15 minutes they came off cleanly in full sheets leaving little glue residue.

Appreciate the vid dry run. Made it a low stress easy process. [emoji1303]

I like the look of the black vinyl tape. My 2015 started to get the wrinkling and puckering of the tape by the window molding. I was going to remove the window molding, use a hair blow dryer as my heat gun, heat up the tape enough to gently peel it upwards past the wrinkle, then stretch it out and reposition it in place, wrinkle-free.

Instead of doing that, I got a new truck.

I wonder why it eventually wrinkles at the window molding? I'm considering doing this by I admit I kind of like the look of it on.

Sunlight beats down on that black window molding causing localized hot spot leading to glue failure and stretching of the tape?

The way I've seen it twist at the bottom near where the screw goes into the molding looks like the screw intially caused it and it just grew and got worse. Also the sun beating down on the whole thing doesn't explain why everyone's seems to get swirly at the same spot at the bottom.

Great video, if mine ever gets imperfections I'll follow this for sure.

I'm still on the fence about removing it. If I had a black truck or granite crystal it would be a no brainer. Having a white truck I am just not sold on the look

Pull it JB, I have a brand new MOPAR set if you don’t like it naked. They are yours.

Yeah I think whatever robot installs the rubber trim at the factory has some torq/twisting action placed on the trim and as soon as the sun heats up the glue its the perfect opportunity for it to start twisting the vinyl. I bet if you loosened and reset and don't over-torque the screws on all 4 doors when you get a new truck you wouldn't have this problem

I am pretty happy with the outcome on my white sport. But I think it looks good on there too. Could go either way really.
