[HOW TO] Update Uconnect RA3/RA4 Software

Hello all,
I've read all 7 pages, and I'm still not confident as to exactly which of the UCONNECT radio configurations are applicable to this update process.
I went to the site and entered my VIN. Received this message:

"There are no updates available for your 2011 DODGE RAM 1500 LARAMIE REG CAB 4X4 equipped with the Uconnect 430N CD/DVD/MP3/HDD/NAV radio"

My truck is not a "REG CAB", and I do not know if that message is accurate regarding the update???

I have the "RHB" system. With NAV, Bluetooth, etc...

Is this all not available to me? If so, Does anyone know a method or means to update the RHB system?

Not sure. Do a Google search and see if anything regarding an update pops up somewhere. This update is for the newer radios so I'm not sure if something was released for your radio as well.

Thanks for the reply. I've searched numerous times and get results all over the chart. Some claim updates are available, some claim they are only applicable to certain VINs, etc... so I was hoping someone here had some experience with a similarly equipped RAM...

This is the first update in a while (there's been others floating around the internet) for our radios that was actually on the UConnect site. Did you try calling your dealer? Even if they can tell you that there's a newer version of the software, you may be able to then search for the software version to narrow the results down and see if it's available online somewhere.

Lol hopefully someone with the same radio chimes in here then. The OP is specific to the RA3/RA4 radios, so you may want to try starting a new thread or checking to see if there's a different thread started specific to your radio.

Did anyone else have problems with the "Aps" icon being gone and replaced with one called "Settings"? I did the RA4 update today and it was successful, but my apps icon is now gone?

I just started having problems with my Bluetooth and SD card music. Seems that if I turn the car off in radio mode, then the SD card/Iphone streaming work great the next time the car is started. If I turn the truck off with the SD card or Iphone playing music, they won't work the next time I start the truck. I am hoping an update will fix this. Not a huge issue but annoying.

Your radio version does not change when you add the navigation. If you bought the 8.4A then that's the version you still have.

To be safe, just download the file from the UConnect site that uses your VIN to determine your update. At least this way you know that you have the update meant for your truck.

Loaded the RA3 update in mine last night, worked fine the first time through. Thanks for posting the information about the updates. I guess I would have never known about it otherwise. It would be nice if Chrysler notified owners about these things.

Ok, well it looks like I do have the 8.4A according to my VIN. Just to make sure, I won't lose the nav if I update with the 8.4A version correct?
